Careers
Build the shield.
Our mission is to defend the sky over the United States and its allies. We are hiring our founding engineers in Miami, Florida: the people who will build our first systems and take them into the field.
Why now
Small drones changed modern war, and the sites that keep a country running still sit under an open sky. We are early. The first engineers turn our design into working hardware and measure what it does outdoors.
-
Ownership
You build the first systems.
No legacy system and no ticket queue. You own a whole subsystem from your first day and take it from design to a working unit, on the bench and then outdoors.
-
Evidence
You take the first measurements.
We do not claim what we have not measured. Your data from the bench and the test range becomes the evidence behind what DORZUN says about its systems.
-
Culture
You set the engineering culture.
How we review designs, test hardware and ship software is not written yet. The founding team writes it, then hires the people who come next.
Open roles
Four founding roles, each with salary and founding equity. Open a role to read it in full.
-
The role
You will be one of DORZUN’s first engineers and the technical lead for the sensor head at the core of every node: its cameras, compute, timing and embedded software. With the rest of the founding team, you will take it from a detailed design to a working bench unit that detects and tracks real small drones, and then into the field.
What you will do
- Bring up our sensor bench: the radar, the electro-optical and thermal cameras, compute, timing and power.
- Write the embedded and edge software: drivers, time synchronization, sensor data pipelines and health monitoring.
- Test the sensor head against small drones, on the bench and outdoors, and turn what it sees into design decisions.
- Choose suppliers and parts for the sensor head’s cameras, compute and electronics, with cost and lead time in mind.
- Be the technical voice of DORZUN in early conversations with government users.
- Hire and mentor the next engineers.
What you bring
- 6+ years building sensor systems that shipped: radar, electro-optical, infrared, RF or similar.
- Strong in embedded Linux and in C/C++ or Rust, and comfortable with Python for analysis.
- Hands-on lab and field skills: oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, wiring harnesses and test plans.
- You have taken a hardware product from prototype to field use at least once.
- You want to own the outcome in a small company, and you make progress without a full spec.
Nice to have
- Experience with radar signal processing or thermal imaging.
- A background in counter-drone systems, defense programs or government test events.
- Location
- Miami, Florida
- Work
- On-site, with field travel
- Type
- Full-time

The role
You will own the software that turns raw detections into a clean picture of the sky: multi-sensor fusion, multi-target tracking and TRACENTRY™, our airspace awareness and command software. In heavy clutter, track management decides whether an operator sees a usable picture or a screen full of false tracks. Getting that right with live sensors is your job.
What you will do
- Build our tracker and prove it on field data: association, track confirmation, track merging and false-track control.
- Fuse radar, camera and aircraft broadcast data into one track per object, with honest estimates of quality and uncertainty.
- Share our tracks with the command-and-control systems our users already run, over open standards.
- Develop the TRACENTRY operator view, including the authorization step and the audit trail that records each operator decision.
- Create the tools that turn each field day into data: recording, replay and metrics.
What you bring
- 5+ years writing production software in Python and C++ or Rust, on real-time or streaming systems.
- Hands-on experience with multi-target tracking or sensor fusion: Kalman filters and data association (GNN, JPDA, MHT or similar).
- Experience shipping software that runs on hardware in the field, not only in the cloud.
- Clean engineering habits: tests, continuous integration, readable code and written design notes.
Nice to have
- Experience with robotics middleware, binary messaging protocols or military data-exchange standards.
- Past work on counter-drone, air defense, surveillance or autonomy programs.
- Experience integrating with military command-and-control systems.

The role
You will own our node as a system: power, enclosure, thermal management, cabling and the integration of its sensors into a unit that survives outdoors. You will also run our test program, from the bench to the range, and make sure every claim we make is backed by a measurement.
What you will do
- Keep the system requirements and interface control documents current as the hardware changes.
- Integrate power and batteries, the enclosure, thermal management and cabling for the first units.
- Write and run test plans: environmental, power, electromagnetic compatibility, wind and stability, and the range days where detection is measured.
- Organize field tests: range booking, target drones, safety plans, airspace coordination and data collection.
- Track parts, builds and configurations, so every test traces back to a hardware revision.
What you bring
- 4+ years in systems, integration or test engineering on electromechanical hardware.
- Comfort with power electronics, harnessing and basic mechanical design.
- Experience writing test procedures and turning results into decisions.
- You are ready to spend long days outdoors at test ranges.
Nice to have
- Fluency in mechanical CAD.
- Experience with military environmental and electromagnetic test standards.
- An FAA remote pilot certificate and experience flying multirotor or FPV drones.
- A background in defense programs or military service.

The role
You will own how our nodes sense the sky and hold up in a contested spectrum: radar and passive RF sensing, the radio links between nodes, and resilience to jamming and spoofing. You share ownership of everything that radiates or listens with the sensor head lead. Your numbers come from the field, not from a datasheet.
What you will do
- Characterize detection and false-alarm performance against drones, birds and clutter at the test range.
- Select or co-develop radar and passive RF sensors with suppliers, and lead antenna placement and RF integration on our nodes.
- Harden every node against jamming and spoofing: resilient timing, protected radio links and spectrum monitoring.
- Work with the software team on the RF features that tell drones from birds and aircraft.
What you bring
- 5+ years in radar, RF or sensing engineering, with lab and field measurements.
- Hands-on with software-defined radios, spectrum analyzers, antenna measurements and link budgets.
- Signal processing in Python or a similar environment, and enough embedded skill to get data off the hardware.
Nice to have
- Experience with counter-drone radars, passive RF detection or drone identification broadcasts.
- Experience hardening satellite timing receivers against jamming and spoofing.

Where
Miami, Florida
On-site
Hardware gets built by people working side by side, so every role works from Miami.
Field travel
Expect regular trips to test ranges, where the hardware meets live drones, weather and clutter.
Eligibility and equal opportunity
Our work is expected to involve technical data controlled under U.S. export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined in 22 CFR 120.62, a definition that includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees and asylees.
Some future programs may require a U.S. security clearance, which only U.S. citizens can hold. A role that requires one will say so.
DORZUN is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. If you need an accommodation to apply, write to contact@dorzun.com.
